Preventative Maintenance
Preventative maintenance is work that we as the responsible plumbers have to carry out to prevent a breakdown or failure of any components of your water heating system. This important measure ensures the long-levity and functionality of the equipment and reduces high replacement costs at later stages.
We recommend a frequency of preventative maintenance on hot water systems once a year. Following the schedule is crucial as a neglect could result the expiration of the systems guarantee/warranty.
Basic schedule for hot water system
- Cleaning of the PR-valve and TP-valve
- Checking the strainers
- Removing all build-up of lime scale in pipes and connecting points, valves, and pumps
- Check anode on HWC and if necessary, replace (this applies only to HWC’s that have an anode).
Basic schedule for solar water heating system
- Cleaning of the PR-valve and TP-valve
- Cleaning of the collectors on the roof
- Checking the strainers
- Removing all build-up of lime scale in pipes and connecting points, valves, and pumps
- Check anode on HWC and if necessary, replace (this applies only to HWC’s that have an anode)
Basic schedule for heat pump heating system
- Clean or replace of the dust-filters
- Clean the evaporator and condensers
- Check the strainers
- Clean the blowers and fan blades
- Remove all build-up of lime scale in pipes and connecting points, valves and pumps
- Remove any plant life or debris from around the unit.
- Check anode on HWC and if necessary, replace (this applies only to HWC’s that have an anode)
