Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance is work that we as the responsible plumbers have to carry out to prevent a breakdown or failure of any components of your water heating system. This important measure ensures the long-levity and functionality of the equipment and reduces high replacement costs at later stages.
We recommend a frequency of preventative maintenance on hot water systems once a year. Following the schedule is crucial as a neglect could result the expiration of the systems guarantee/warranty.

Basic schedule for hot water system

  • Cleaning of the PR-valve and TP-valve
  • Checking the strainers
  • Removing all build-up of lime scale in pipes and connecting points, valves, and pumps
  • Check anode on HWC and if necessary, replace (this applies only to HWC’s that have an anode).

Basic schedule for solar water heating system

  • Cleaning of the PR-valve and TP-valve
  • Cleaning of the collectors on the roof
  • Checking the strainers
  • Removing all build-up of lime scale in pipes and connecting points, valves, and pumps
  • Check anode on HWC and if necessary, replace (this applies only to HWC’s that have an anode)

Basic schedule for heat pump heating system

  • Clean or replace of the dust-filters
  • Clean the evaporator and condensers
  • Check the strainers
  • Clean the blowers and fan blades
  • Remove all build-up of lime scale in pipes and connecting points, valves and pumps
  • Remove any plant life or debris from around the unit.
  • Check anode on HWC and if necessary, replace (this applies only to HWC’s that have an anode)
